CPR is unarguably an important life skill, which anyone has the capacity to learn. It has often been thought of as a skill reserved for medical professionals, however, the very opposite is true. Performing CPR does not require making complex decisions or having in-depth medical knowledge. It is easy to learn, remember and do. There are no prerequisites for getting CPR certified and having a medical background is not required.

There is an estimated 400,000 cardiac arrests occurring outside the hospital each year, with 88% of those occuring at home. This means that most often a family member, friend or neighbor is the first person to arrive on scene of an emergency. Choosing to get CPR certified and becoming prepared to deal with such emergencies will, undoubtedly, increase the likelihood of someone's chances of survival.
